On Jan. 8, 1997, a passerby found a dead man in an alley between South Julian Circle and South Irving Street wearing a brown cord necklace with a cross pendant.
The man, believed to be Hispanic and in his 20s, had brown hair and eyes, a thin mustache, a tattoo on his upper arm left and a scar on his left forearm, according to the Denver medical examiner.
There were also blemishes on his face in his autopsy photo.
The man stood 5-foot-7 and weighed 16o pounds and carried no identification.
