Investigators launched a full accounting of a raging engine fire that forced the evacuation of an American Airlines flight at Denver International Airport and injured 12 people Thursday evening.
There were 178 people aboard. The injuries were considered minor, officials said.
The Boeing 737-800 was at Gate C38 when it burst into flames after diverting to Denver for engine trouble.
Some people used an emergency exit over the left wing. The right engine was aflame. Black smoke plumed.
The injured were sent to hospitals.
Flight 1006 originated in Colorado Springs and was bound for Dallas-Fort Worth.
