NAB CRAZED FUGITIVE AFTER CHASE INTO DENVER

A crazed fugitive pursued into the Denver city limits by Westminster police crashed into another vehicle near I-70 and I-225.

Wednesday night's high-speed chase began when, Joseph Wrege, 45, wanted on felony warrants, tried to run down Westminster officers and rammed a patrol car at the Comfort Inn Suites near 120th Avenue and Delaware Street, police said.

Wrege and another person were injured in the crash and sent to hospital.

In addition to the outstanding warrants, Wrege faces a variety of new charges, including vehicular assault. He was released from the hospital and booked into the Adams County Detention Facility. Bond was set at $50,000, jail records showed.

The initial call came into 911 as a disturbance at the Comfort Inn.
