A Denver day laborer from Gambia is on trial at U.S. District Court here on charges he tortured planners of a failed coup in the African nation two decades ago. Michael Sang Correa, a former member of Gambia's military, is being tried under the U.S. Torture Act of 1994. A Justice Department lawyer told jurors: "The victims have not forgotten his cruelty.”
