Denver officials confirmed a case of measles in an infant who was too young to be vaccinated - and issued an alert.
Denver Health said on social media: "People who visited the Denver Health Emergency Department (777 Bannock St. Pavilion A, Denver, 80204) on April 6 between 10:30am-4:30pm may have been exposed to positive measles case & should monitor themselves for symptoms."
The infant had returned from a trip to Mexico when it took ill, this year's first reported case of measles in Denver.
"Measles is highly contagious and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes," the city health department warns. "The measles virus can remain in the air for up to two hours."
