The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The father of Denver arsonist and murderer Kevin Bui is going to prison on federal tax-scam charges, the US Attorney's Office says .
Thuan Bui, 60, of Littleton, who ran a tax service and falsely claimed to be a CPA, has been sentenced to 36 months and fined $50,000. He pleaded guilty to aiding or assisting in the preparation of false tax documents.
His cold-blooded son is already serving a 60-year state sentence for second-degree murder in the torching of a Green Valley Ranch home in August 2020 that killed a family of five.
Though the criminals are related, the separate cases aren't.
